Chapter 178: The Bloody Smell On Her Body
Cheng Yang nodded and Xiao Ying left the room.
Before, Cheng Yang drew an “X” on her hand. Did he not want her to ask any more questions about this matter?
Xiao Ying went to the kitchen to cook the porridge.
She used this opportunity to call out the amulet but received no response.
Xiao Ying did not know what was going on. Could it be that there was something wrong with the amulet again?
Cheng Yang had been in his room, though Xiao Ying didn’t know what he was doing. Bored, she went to the study and found a small cabinet in a small corner. The lock on the cabinet seemed to match the key she had found on Cheng Yang.
Only then did Xiao Ying remember that the key she had taken from him was still with her. She had forgotten to return it.
Walking out of the study, she saw that Cheng Yang’s door was still closed. Only then did she dare to use the key to open the cabinet.
There were a few folders in the cabinet. Xiao Ying took out the topmost folder and opened it. Inside was a document and some pictures. It contained information about a family of four. The man on it looked similar to the man who abused his wife she had seen on the CD.
Xiao Ying read the document in her hand and became more and more shocked. Cheng Yang had actually been controlling the whereabouts of this family for so many years. She looked at the other folders in the cabinet and had yet to take a look when she heard the study door open.
“What are you doing?”
Xiao Ying quickly turned around with a book in her hand. She smiled and said, “I’m just here to see if there are any good books to pass the time with.”
Cheng Yang approached her and said, “Did you find any?”
Xiao Ying pretended to be relaxed and said, “I found one. It’s this one.”
Cheng Yang raised his eyebrows and said with a strange look, “You like this?”
Xiao Ying nodded quickly and looked at the title of the book. Her face stiffened. On the book were the words, “The Complete Book of Prostatitis Prevention and Treatment.”
Cheng Yang’s amused voice sounded. “I don’t have any problems with that area, so you don’t have to worry.”
Xiao Ying’s face flushed red as she stammered, “I’m just doing some research. I have a research project that needs this, haha.”
With that, she quickly turned and left the study.
Cheng Yang’s gaze swept over the cabinet in the corner and his eyes darkened.
Xiao Ying heaved a sigh of relief after leaving the study. She thought about what she had just seen. Who was that family?
Why was Cheng Yang collecting their information? In his previous life, when had he started to target his relatives? Or has he already started to take action in this lifetime?
Xiao Ying sat on the bed and tried her best to recall information about Cheng Yang in her previous life. However, the number of memories she could recall was pitifully little. It was not that Xiao Ying paid little attention to him, but that so many people had died and no one suspected Cheng Yang. In the end, he had only been caught after turning himself in.
So it wasn’t easy for her to find out about Cheng Yang’s movements.
The amulet that had disappeared for two days suddenly said, “The destined energy source’s fate has already begun to unwind.”
After leaving these words behind, the amulet disappeared again. Xiao Ying could not call it out no matter how hard she tried.
The destined energy source’s fate, didn’t that mean that Cheng Yang was about to make a move?
Xiao Ying was shocked and sat up on the bed, feeling puzzled. How was this possible? She had not seen Cheng Yang show any signs, but the information in the study cabinet still made her uneasy.
She could not watch Cheng Yang suffer the same fate as in the previous lifetime.
Xiao Ying did not know how to help Cheng Yang and was even prepared to lay all her cards on the table with him.
The next day, she came early to wake Cheng Yang up. After knocking for a long time, she realized that he was not at home.
This was the first time Cheng Yang had gone out without telling her. Xiao Ying felt even more uneasy.. He didn’t pick up his phone, so she could only sit at home and wait anxiously.
