Few things actually could make Ethan worry about the future. Surprisingly enough, not even the fact that he challenged the son of the president unintentionally was one of them. Although his powers were supposed to be legendary, even among the top students of the school, he was just another troublesome kid in Ethan's eyes. Even though he was no better.
"Anyway…" Ian said after recovering from the laugh. "Now, at least we all know that those big swords aren't being used by you to compensate for something. Let's see, if you finish ten floors with this same speed. I will bet that my father will let you do as you want."
Ethan sighed. To think Ian could crack such a joke when a girl at that age was nearby… he was absolutely hopeless. Even more so when he mentioned the expedition that was going to take place next week. Although he didn't mention many details, it didn't change the fact that he was spreading information.
"It looks like you two are even more chummy than I thought," Emily said. "Anyway, if you finish off the stages so fast, you won't have time to practice the spells."
That made sense. Although Ethan wanted to mess around more with the ranking of the simulator, he decided to take things seriously. All in order to achieve his ultimate goal of obtaining the means to control his powers.

Somehow, amidst all that fighting, Ethan managed to learn one support skill before he could reach the fifth stage and have his rematch against the lizardmen. Things would become a bit more dangerous since those monsters could spit acid. So, Emily cast a Mana Barrier around her, and Ian got up. Even he didn't get the confidence of avoiding such dangerous attacks while lying on the ground.
Still, their worries were unnecessary. As if he was a tornado, Ethan charged toward the lizardmen and split them in half with a speed and precision that someone shouldn't have while using such a massive sword. Still, the number of enemies was too high, so Ethan didn't manage to avoid all their attacks.
Congratulations! The skill Acid Resistance has leveled up!
Congratulations! For leveling up the skill, you learned by yourself you obtained ten coins."I guess I'm not fast enough," Ethan muttered. "It is high time to train Quickness and increase my speed."
It wasn't his style to solve his problems with speed. Still, unless he becomes faster, Ethan wouldn't be able to avoid those attacks and concentrate on learning new support spells. So, Ethan decided to increase his speed a bit more, but as if he didn't have enough things on his head, Ian interrupted him.

"Which reminds me, Ethan," Ian said. "Your rings were pretty good, so I managed to sell them yesterday. I got ninety thousand for all of them. Are you sure you want to give me thirty percent of that?"
"Couldn't you have brought that sooner?" Ethan massaged his eyebrows. "Yeah, keep your part."
Ethan didn't want to make money that much, he knew that there were things more important than a bunch of paper. He just wanted to get rid of the extra luggage. Still, he couldn't help but frown at that crazy sum of money. Those items were pretty decent, but Ethan didn't expect to receive ten thousand for each of them. Ethan could buy something similar in his shop for thirty thousand coins, so as expected, he could use his powers to make money with ease.

Unfortunately, since his concentration wavered, he got hit by one lizardman again. As if that wasn't annoying enough, he heard Ian chuckling, and it looked like he didn't learn his lesson. It was a pity, but Ethan couldn't use the same strategy he had used before.
You received a new quest!
pαndα,noνɐ1,coΜ Complete the sixth stage of the VR simulator!
Reward: 10.000 coins.
The same what happened with the goblins happened to the lizardmen. In the next stage, they appeared and kept a formation as to surround Ethan, Emily, and Ian. However, the very same moment they appeared, Ethan charged at them and got their full attention. At that point in time, Emily and Ian couldn't help but show their interest in the fight. They knew Ethan had a lot more potential than that, but something like that wasn't what they were interested in. Although they were in a simulation, most people would show some sign of hesitation while facing so many creatures alone. Yet, Ethan never showed that.
Few people knew how many stages one could face in the free mode of the VR simulator. However, most of the students knew that just like they were divided in ranks, the simulator had more or less a system that divided them by their strength. It wasn't something as obvious as the scores, it was the stages. For example, an ordinary rank F student would only be able to reach the fifth floor and would be unable to complete it. A rank E student could reach the tenth floor, but they wouldn't be able to complete it, and so on and so forth. What they were seeing right now was Ethan, who received the F rank four days ago and now had enough power to complete the five first stages without barely suffering any damage. With that pace, in a few months, at which level would he reach? That was a question that Emily and Ian had a hard time thinking of a proper answer to. Because they knew they didn't see Ethan trying really hard yet.
