"I didn't think my sister would need to draw those," Ethan said while analyzing the magic circles.
"She doesn't," John shook his head. "This was drawn after we lost contact with her, and we used the remaining traces of her mana to create it. That being said, it isn't enough to create the same stable portal that she used."
Now Ethan was starting to feel bad for criticizing the government. They weren't doing things slowly. It was because they had to follow certain rules, and it was all thanks to the wonderful bureaucracy. Those who were part of the system had no choice but to endure it. Only fools or those who had confidence in themselves would try to ignore certain steps.
"The ritual is complete. To activate the magic circle, you just need to pour some of your mana into it," John said. "As you know, the portal isn't stable, so you will have to guide yourself toward Meizibio. However, I think that will be easy for you. You just have to follow the traces of Hannah's mana. Arriving in the world won't be a hard task, and it will be to find her since you may end up on different sides of the world."
"I will keep that in mind," Ethan said and then touched one of the gravures. "Thanks for your cooperation."
Without a hint of hesitation, Ethan poured his mana into the magic circle. In the next moment, he saw himself flying across that familiar white and empty world. Ethan called it: the root. Since he couldn't see anything aside from some emptiness and some traces of mana, that made him think of the roots of a tree. However, unlike the previous times, he had some control over his body. So, Ethan tried to concentrate on finding the root, which was the traces of Hannah's mana. Maybe it was because they were siblings or because Hannah's mana was top class among all the others he found before, but Ethan found her traces pretty fast.
After that, things proceeded incredibly fast. Once Ethan put himself to follow the root, his speed increased, and in the next moment, he saw himself in another world… while falling from the sky.
"This might be a bit bad…" Ethan furrowed his eyebrows. "I didn't obtain Impact Resistance and Pain Resistance, after all… I guess I will have to learn it forcefully."
Ethan was in a free fall, he could see a massive grassland below him, but he doubted that would be enough to help him survive the fall. He looked for some items in his shop that could help him in that situation, but even though the variety increased a lot, none of them could help him.
"It can't be helped," Ethan said and then opened his status screen.

Ethan allocated his free status points to endurance, which would help him to suffer less once the inevitable happens, while it also increases his health. That being said, just surviving the fall wouldn't be enough since he would be on an unknown planet. Who knows what might happen next, so he had to protect his limbs at least since he would need them to fight?
Gathering all his might and focusing his senses to use at the last moment, Ethan held his claymore firmly. When he was fifty meters away from the ground, he used Brutal Swing. The effect had been minimal since he was falling, and he couldn't use the power of his lower half, but Ethan slowed down his fall.
Letting his body fall just like that wouldn't be wise since every part of his body would suffer the impact. He moved his body a little and then landed on his feet. The next moment, Ethan felt and heard the bones of his legs cracking. At the same time, he lost the air in his lungs… the pain almost made him faint.

It wouldn't solve everything instantly, but Ethan recovered fast enough to buy one potion. The pain was insane, but it was slowly decreasing. When it became bearable, Ethan looked around to confirm the safety of that zone.
"Things look pretty normal around here," Ethan muttered. "Something big happened, but it looks like it only affected the whole planet in a single moment."
Apparently, two weeks had passed since the incident in that world, so it made sense that Ethan wouldn't find any traces of what happened so soon. Still, for a fantasy world, it sure was quiet. Ethan couldn't hear anything aside from the sound of the wind, and he couldn't even feel the presence of animals or monsters nearby. It looked like he was in an area that didn't have much people, but while there was grass and trees everywhere, they weren't overgrown.
Ethan closed his eyes and tried to enhance his feelings, searching for any traces of Hannah's presence. Ethan has been just like that for quite a while. Yet, he didn't find anything, nor was he attacked by anything while he did it.

"Not good…" Ethan got up and then checked the condition of his legs. "I'm not skilled enough to feel her presence, even though she has a lot of mana. I don't think leveling up this new skill will help find her either."
Ethan still could feel some pain coming from his bones, but it was bearable. In a few minutes, it would disappear. Rather than waiting for that, Ethan decided to look for signs of the humans of that world. After finding them, things would proceed smoothly since Hannah was probably in the biggest city talking with the most important world leaders. Still, Ethan had no idea which direction to go. While he was falling, he took a good look around, but he didn't find anything aside from a few forests and hills in the distance.
"Well, if anything, this is a good moment to train Dash," Ethan shrugged. "Let's just hope that I won't choose the wrong direction and end up in some even more desolate place."
