Chapter 216 : The Cat Training AncestorLesbian cat…
Zhang Zian was speechless when he saw the name.
He did some research.
This cat’s experience was in fact quite sad. At first, Pan Jinlian took it as the most precious thing. It was very smart and quickly learned how to pick up things with its mouth. It always slept in her arms. Soon enough, Pan Jinlian started to train it to attack her husband’s other wives. Snowy Snitch only ate fresh pork, so Pan Jinlian wrapped fresh pork inside red silk and train it to attack and bite. Her husband, Xi Menqing, had only one son, Guan Ge’er, who loved to wear red clothing.
When Snowy Snitch was trained well, Pan Jinlian secretly put it in the bedroom of Guan Ge’er. Seeing Guan Ge’er in red clothing, Snowy Snitch instinctively thought it was a piece of fresh meat, so it attacked and bit him. Guan Ge’er was scared to death, literally. Xi Menqing was so pissed that he grabbed Snowy Snitch and threw it at the stone stairs. Snowy Snitch died immediately.
Zhang Zian understood now. It was all about animal’s trained reflexes.
He also understood why this cat was so sick of men, why it liked to train other cats to steal, and why it was grumpy all the time. Its story was a heart-breaking one.
At first, he was curious about how there was a dark line on a snowy white cat. Now, he understood that it was an imaginative cat from a novel. Millions of readers’ imaginations turned it into an elfin.
Pan Jinlian wasn’t the first one to use an animal’s trained reflexes to commit crime. More than 2000 years ago, Tu Anjia from Jin Guo practiced the same thing to train a dog to kill Zhao Dun. 300 years after Jin Ping Mei was published, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle also had similar stories in The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes and The Hound of the Baskervilles.
Both Tu Anjia and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle chose to write about training dogs for crimes because dogs are easy to train. Pan Jinlian was probably the first ever to write about cats committing crimes. Therefore, it wasn’t surprising to have Snowy Snitch become an elfin.
“Galaxy, I will put you back to my cellphone if someone comes. I will release you when we get home,” He said to Galaxy, “You did me a great favor today. We wouldn’t have found this place without your help.”
Galaxy was excited about getting praised. It raised its head happily and said “Sure, Zian.”
Zhang Zian put Galaxy back in the cell phone, and left the storage room with Fina and the invisible Old Time Tea. He walked back up to the lobby from the stairs when Captain Sheng came in from outside.
Seeing that Zhang Zian didn’t take the elevator but walked up the stairs, Captain Sheng was surprised but he didn’t ask. He gave Zhang Zian a homemade lunch box. “Mr. Zhang, Thanks for working with us. Come have some lunch. It is all homemade food. I hope you like it.”
“Wow, great!” Zhang Zian took over the lunch box. The clock in the lobby showed it was already noon. Zhang Zian immediately felt hungry.
Captain Sheng gave him a pair of disposable chopsticks. “Sit down and eat.”
“Captain Sheng, did you eat?” Although it was quite obvious, Zhang Zian still asked politely.
Captain Sheng patted his belly, “Of course. My wife just finished cooking when I got home. She complained that I had to work on a weekend, but at least she still cooked for me.”
Yu Fei saw them from the surveillance camera so he pushed the door open, “Hey, come in here. You can eat at my desk.”
Captain Sheng and Zhang Zian entered the monitor room. Zhang Zian put the lunch box on the desk, pulled up a chair and pointed the monitor with his chin, “You may turn the surveillance back on.”
Yu Fei turned on the surveillance cameras and was about to ask Zhang Zian if he had found any clues. Captain Sheng winked and stopped him.
Zhang Zian opened the lunch box. The first layer was rice. The second layer was split into four compartments. There were spare ribs, wintermelon meatballs, stir-fried pork, and sour and spicy shredded potato. There was a lot of food.
“Yu Fei, do me a favor,” Captain Sheng pulled out some money from his wallet, “Go get some BBQ skewers and fish. Don’t put any spices on them.”
Yu Fei took the money and thought the BBQ was for Captain Sheng and Zhang Zian.
Zhang Zian opened the disposable chopsticks and said, “Captain Sheng, that’s fine. I was joking with you. My cat is very picky. Even if you bought fish for it, it won’t eat without its own food bowl.”
Yu Fei finally understood that the BBQ skewers and fish were for the cat. That cat was high maintenance!
Captain Sheng looked at Fina, who was sitting next to Zhang Zian. It was indifferent. The aroma from food didn’t interest it at all.
Zhang Zian got some food in his mouth and couldn’t help but praise, “Your wife is a good cook!”
“Well, thank you. I am glad you like it,” Captain Sheng was humble.
“This is really great!” Zhang Zian quickly ate the food. He either ate greasy take out or tasteless BBQ skewers or fish all the time. He almost forgot what homemade food tasted like.
Yu Fei was hungry as well. His food was provided by the company and it wasn’t delivered yet. Looking at Zhang Zian eating, he felt hungrier.
Zhang Zian put a meatball in his mouth and spoke as he ate, “Oh yeah, Captain Sheng, I already figured out the case. It wasn’t as good as I was hoping for, but you could at least return the stolen goods to the owners.”
“Really? You are good! Please tell me the details.”
Captain Sheng wasn’t surprised because he could tell that Zhang Zian was much more calm and peaceful than he was this morning. So, he guessed that Zhang Zian had some good news for him. He honestly didn’t know much about Zhang Zian, so he wasn’t sure if his guess was correct or not.
Zhang Zian ate all the food quickly. Pushing the lunch box away, throwing the chopsticks in the garbage can, he then wiped his mouth, “Captain Sheng, I am not cleaning the lunch box for you. I know you are eager to find out what happened. I am going to show you.”
“Where?” Captain Sheng asked.
Zhang Zian pointed down, “In the underground parking lot.”
