Chapter 123 : Not to Have Anything to Do with It
The teacher from the infirmary came back from the hospital with Huo Xiao.
Seeing Shen You was still sitting in the infirmary in a daze, the two of them looked at each other.
Huo Xiao walked forward and patted Shen You’s shoulder gently. “Are you okay?”
Shen You suddenly jumped from the chair and turned to look at Huo Xiao. “You’re back! Is Ling Rui okay?”
Huo Xiao nodded and put a hand on Shen You’s shoulder to comfort her. “He’s fine for now. His family has gone over. They will follow up on further treatment.”
“Oh.” Shen You replied and did not say anything else.
The teacher looked at Shen You and advised, “Don’t worry too much. His fainting has nothing to do with you.”
“You are tired, too. Go back and rest early,” the teacher from the infirmary suggested.
Shen You slowly stood up, bowed to the teacher, and walked out of the infirmary.
Huo Xiao said goodbye to the teacher and chased after her, “I’ll send you back!”
Shen You seemed to have been suddenly turned on by a switch and said coldly, “No, thanks!”
Huo Xiao looked at Shen You’s somewhat stiff back and said, “I’ll be worried if you go back like this!”
“I’m fine!” Shen You refused again and quickened her pace.
Huo Xiao looked at Shen You’s somewhat stubborn back and did not chase after her. Instead, he slowly followed behind her.
Shen You knew that Huo Xiao was following behind her, so she quickened her pace.
Huo Xiao frowned deeply. He did not know why Shen You was avoiding him in such a manner.
However, he knew that Shen You needed some time to process her emotions and calm down.
He only stayed about three meters away from Shen You, quietly following her in case anything happened to her.
When they reached the coffee shop, Shen You pushed the door open and walked in.
Huo Xiao stood outside the door and did not follow her in.
At that moment, the door closed in front of Huo Xiao, making him feel as if he and Shen You were separated into two worlds.
Huo Xiao stared at Shen You’s back and did not leave for a long time.
Xie Chen was still sitting at the bar counter, staring at the door in a daze.
She saw Shen You walk in expressionlessly, greeted her, and then walked to her room.
When she looked at the door again, Huo Xiao was standing on the same spot, not moving at all.
Xie Chen did not know what had happened between the two of them, but she had a feeling that they must be at loggerheads.
Xie Chen had heard about the engagement between Huo Xiao and Wu Qi.
However, to her, an engagement between large families seemed to be a common practice in the development of a business.
If the two children had the same mind, they could find time to develop their feelings and then get married.
However, some also pursued short-term interests and only used the engagement as a turning point in the development of their business.
This kind of operation was the most common in aristocratic families.
However, ever since the matter of Huo Xiao and Wu Qi’s engagement was exposed, Shen You seemed to have changed into a different person.
She began to work very hard.
Even though Xie Chen had always known that Shen You worked hard to live and achieve her goals.
But now, Shen You seemed to have fallen into a workaholic state.
Other than the time when she went to school and slept, she was desperately looking for work opportunities.
Shen You’ was as if she wanted to use her busy life to cover up something.
Xie Chen knew that Shen You’s mood had changed, but it was not convenient for others to interfere in these matters. She could only let her think things through on her own.
Huo Xiao stood at the door for a long time before he turned around and left.
Xie Chen sighed. “Young people!”
After Huo Xiao left, Xie Chen’s gaze once again lingered at the entrance of the coffee shop as if she was looking for something.
Xie Xiao came back from school and went straight into Shen You’s room. “I heard that you’re not feeling well. What’s the matter?”
Seeing Shen You lying on the bed, Xie Xiao was even more worried.
“You went out with Ling Rui, but neither of you came back! I was really afraid that he would bully you!” Seeing Shen You now made Xie Xiao feel much more at ease.
“However, I heard that he ended up in the hospital. Could it be that you beat him up?” Xie Xiao could not help but guess.
They did not know the whole story.
They only knew that the teacher from the infirmary told their class teacher that Ling Rui was in the hospital and that Shen You went home to rest first because she was not feeling well.
Xie Xiao wanted to ask more, but she found out that Huo Xiao, who went to find Shen You, was also missing.
The teacher from the infirmary just said that they were all fine and that there was no need to worry.
Xie Xiao waited until after school, then rushed back to the coffee shop. In the end, she saw Shen You lying on the bed.
