Yellow-Shirted Envoy and Redmond (2)
Was he good at sucking up, or did he have an extremely high EQ? How did he manage to convince Tejano into offering so much?
I’ve been friends with Ambassador Tejano for decades. Why didn’t he care about me this much? Secretary General Angus thought to himself. What did he do to make Tejano help him?
*******
In the living room of Xu Jingming’s house.
The yellow-shirted man stood in the living room and said in a gentle voice, “Other than 189 space pirates who have been executed, I’ve temporarily placed the rest in that spaceship. The Redmond Group will collect them shortly.”
Xu Jingming nodded. “Thank you for your help.”
“I’m just carrying out orders,” the yellow-shirted man said with a smile.
Xu Jingming also knew very well. Ever since Tejano officially started his business and made waves in the universe, his father, Redmond, had given Tejano use of three Silver-Robed Envoys and 300 Yellow-Shirted Envoys.
Tejano felt that his career had just begun, so he didn’t need so many Yellow-Shirted Envoys for the time being. Therefore, he only accepted three Silver-Robed Envoys and 100 Yellow-Shirted Envoys.
When his career expanded in the future and he needed more strength, it wouldn’t be too late to have the other Yellow-Shirted Envoys dispatched.
This time…
Tejano was nearby and mobilized a Yellow-Shirted Envoy from the Oohook Star Alliance, getting it to arrive on Earth as quickly as possible. After all, he still had 200 Yellow-Shirted Envoys left. This was his personal quota, and he didn’t need to go through the Redmond Group’s higher-ups for approval.
“Director Zhou from China is here.” The yellow-shirted man glanced outside and gave him a heads-up. “I’ll take my leave first. Call me anytime if there’s anything.”
“Alright.” Xu Jingming got up.
The yellow-shirted man walked out of the living room and met the visiting Director Zhou in the courtyard.
“You are—” Director Zhou stared at the yellow-shirted man with widened eyes.
The yellow-shirted man nodded slightly before turning into light and dissipating.
“Director Zhou.” Xu Jingming also came to the courtyard to welcome him.
“Was that the Yellow-Shirted Envoy?” Director Zhou couldn’t help but ask.
“Yes.” Xu Jingming nodded.
“The technology contained in a Civilization-level smart bot is fascinating.” Director Zhou sighed. Smart destructive weapons of this level were very rare among cosmic humans, and they couldn’t be bought at all.
Director Zhou then focused his gaze on Xu Jingming. “You didn’t reveal the fact that the Redmond Group sent a Yellow-Shirted Envoy. All the cosmic lifeforms on Earth have been panicking recently.”
“This was a plan formulated by Tejano. We had to keep it a secret and not leak the news,” Xu Jingming said. “We wanted to wait for the first batch of enemies to charge over before killing them to show our determination and our act of deterrence to the rest.”
Regardless of the background of the first batch of enemies, the Yellow-Shirted Envoy was already on standby.
“Ambassador Tejano sure thought it through,” Director Zhou praised before giving him a thumbs-up. “Your friendship with Ambassador Tejano is also extraordinary.”
Now, many people on Earth felt that Xu Jingming’s ability to make friends was brilliant.
“I’m also very grateful to him.” Xu Jingming nodded. “Oh right, the Redmond Group will arrive on Earth in a few days.”
“They’re coming?” Director Zhou was puzzled.
“One of the reasons is to collect the space pirates in space. The second reason, and most importantly, it’s to build a Redmond Group Star Zone branch within Earth’s territory,” Xu Jingming said. “After all, the Yellow-Shirted Envoy will be stationed here permanently. It’s very suitable for a branch.”
With the Yellow-Shirted Envoy permanently stationed here, such strength naturally couldn’t be wasted. It could be considered an efficient use of the Yellow-Shirted Envoy by instantly establishing a branch.
“The Redmond Group’s Star Zone branch?” Director Zhou was excited. “How much space does it need? Earth is only this big. Is there enough space?”
“It doesn’t need to be too big; it’s mainly to serve high-end customers,” Xu Jingming said. “100 square kilometers is enough. Perhaps a starport needs to be built in outer space to park external spaceships. Of course, the Redmond Group will discuss the details with you when they arrive.”
“Alright, alright.” Director Zhou was so excited that his face flushed red. “A branch of the Redmond Group? On Earth? Now, Earth will become a trading center.”
“In the past—” Director Zhou smiled at Xu Jingming. “—everyone was worried that Earth’s civilization’s isolation would limit its development. Now that the Redmond Group is building a branch here as well as a starport… Earth’s development will be much faster in the future. Jingming, you have to know that all of this is because of Ambassador Tejano.”
“Yeah.” Xu Jingming nodded.
“Humans have to be grateful,” Director Zhou said. “We have to remember how Ambassador Tejano has helped you and Earth.”
“Got it,” Xu Jingming replied.
“Ambassador Tejano ignores us, but he sees you in a different light,” Director Zhou reminded. “Interpersonal relationships need to be maintained. It fades from less interaction. You have to put in more effort in this aspect!”
Xu Jingming was slightly stunned. Put in more effort?
“Earth’s greatest reliance now is Ambassador Tejano. It’s not easy for weak civilizations to survive in the universe,” Director Zhou said. “As long as you maintain your friendship with Ambassador Tejano, you will be doing a lot for Earth.”
“Okay.” Xu Jingming had a complicated expression.
He somewhat understood. In the eyes of Earth’s upper echelons, he was the link between Earth and Tejano.
“Are you 100% certain about establishing a Star Zone branch on Earth?” Director Zhou asked. “If there’s no problem, I’ll report it to the Alliance.”
“Yes.” Xu Jingming nodded.
“Alright.” Director Zhou had rushed over and said a few words in the courtyard. He didn’t enter the house or drink a cup of tea before leaving excitedly.
Xu Jingming watched him leave before turning to enter the house.
“Dad.” His daughter, Xu Lixing, had just left the virtual chamber and was looking at Xu Jingming excitedly in the living room. “I heard from the other cosmic lifeforms on Earth that space pirates wanted to plunder Earth. A Yellow-Shirted Envoy from the Redmond Group appeared? He said that he was under orders to protect you?”
Xu Jingming was slightly stunned. “You know about it too?”
“There are only so many cosmic lifeforms on Earth, and the news is going viral! There are even videos of space pirates threatening us.” Xu Lixing was extremely excited. “Many of them complained about you in front of me previously, but now, everyone is saying… that you’re the best, Dad!”
“Many people blamed me in front of you?” Xu Jingming asked.
Xu Lixing’s expression froze before she lowered her head. “Yes, I didn’t say anything. In fact, someone scolded you in front of me and felt that you were the one who brought harm to Earth. They even said… that if Earth’s civilization were to be wiped out because of this, you would be the greatest sinner. However, they have all changed their minds. Someone even apologized to me!”
Xu Jingming nodded.
Many cosmic lifeforms on Earth cursed him, and some of them were even his friends.
“Dad, you’re really impressive. How did you get Tejano to be willing to send a Yellow-Shirted Envoy?” Xu Lixing was curious. “I saw the information. There’s plenty of red tape before the Redmond Group sends a Yellow-Shirted Envoy.”
“Alright, stop asking. I still have something on.” Xu Jingming turned and left.
Xu Lixing curled her lips and excitedly went to her virtual chamber to exchange information with the other cosmic lifeforms on Earth.
She had been quite aggrieved in the past few days. Now that the situation had changed, she was even more excited than her father!
…
In a distant and mysterious place deep in the universe.
A fat, silver-gray short-haired man with a wide and fat head sat at the table with a smile. He looked at the large amount of information flowing on the projection and pondered as he read.
“Deputy Dean Redmond.” Suddenly, a voice sounded in the surroundings.
“Speak.” Redmond continued reading the flowing information.
“Xu Jingming encountered some trouble, but my second carrier didn’t make a move,” the voice said. “Because your son, Tejano, sent a Yellow-Shirted Envoy to protect Xu Jingming.”
“My son?” Redmond was surprised.
“Your son became good friends with Xu Jingming while he was on Earth. Therefore, he sent a Yellow-Shirted Envoy this time,” the voice continued.
Redmond smiled and said, “This kid is still so willful.”
“Tejano is willful,” the voice continued.
“As long as he doesn’t worry me.” Redmond was clearly in a good mood. “Continue protecting Xu Jingming in secret. Make sure he’s safe.”
“Yes, sir,” the voice replied before disappearing.
Redmond continued reading the information on the projection, immersed in his research.
