Auntie Yaoyao Is off Limits 2
He was only twenty-five at the time, still finishing his law degree when he met Gu Yuyao through a mutual friend. That mutual friend said she was a regular office worker, working in an accounting firm, that she was working her ass off to make ends meet.
He would've never expected that the woman he'd been in a relationship with was the Gu family's Young Miss. The sole heir of the family and was the next one in line to run the family business. As to why she was living as a commoner, he had never found out the reason, because she had immediately broken up with him and left the country as soon as he found out.
His hands tightened on the steering wheel. Why couldn't she trust him at all? Was his love so cheap that she'd rather throw it back to his face without saying a word?
No one knew where she was, nor where she went. It was as if she'd vanished into thin air. It made him wonder if she really existed in the six months they were together.
If it wasn't for the fact that the engagement ring he bought for her was still in his possession, He Lianchen would have thought that those six months was just a trick of his mind.
So she was in the states hiding from her family. What now? What made Gu Yuyao agree to return, knowing that there was a high possibility of her being found out?
His instincts were screaming at him to go find her, to drag her ass back, and ask her why she'd left him. Why didn't she give him a chance to prove that he was worthy of her?
Tang Moyu had told him that she was now working under Tang Enterprise, making him think that the empress was aware of Gu Yuyao's real identity. Gu Yuyao wouldn't be able to leave easily, unlike before, and goddamnit! He wanted her back so badly.
Ten years had passed but time had only made Gu Yuyao more beautiful in his eyes. Maybe the years of being apart from each other had influenced this.
He pulled his car to a stop when he reached the parking slot reserved for him. As Feng Tianyi's right-hand man, he had perks under his name that only he could enjoy, something that even Song Fengyan couldn't have.
Some people may assume that he was the devil's minion, however what they didn't know was, he was more like a partner to Feng Tianyi, someone the devil could rely on.
Their partnership had started when Feng Tianyi offered a contract that he couldn't decline. A contract that would effectively protect him from his older brother, who had attempted to kill him because of the inheritance he was trying to secure.
"How is he?" Was the question He Lianchen immediately received as soon as he entered the Chairman's office at Qing Tian Group.
Song Huifen lifted her head and glanced at him before turning her attention back on the papers in her hand.
"Looking good these days. He looks happier." He reported. Ever since Feng Tianyi moved in with the Tangs, his health and complexion were getting better each time he saw him. He even looked happier, especially with the two little buns beside him.
As for Tang Moyu, he wasn't sure what's going on between her and Feng Tianyi. They looked like more than friends, but less than lovers at the same time. If Feng Tianyi truly wanted to pursue her, he would need to move heaven and earth to convince the empress and his mother about it.
He Lianchen wasn't lying anyway, but Song Huifen didn't need to find out that her son was currently living with the fallen empress. Song Huifen had recently come back from her business trip and Feng Tianyi specifically told him not to mention anything about Tang Moyu and his deal with her to his mother.
"Really? That's music to my ears. Although I must admit I was expecting him to give me a call once in a while. This old woman isn't getting any younger, you know? You should convince him to get therapy so he could get back on his feet immediately. He's wasting a lot of time confining himself in self-pity, when it's only his pride that's holding him back."
Song Huifen was already in her late fifties, but her physical attributes made her look like she was still in her forties. She could even pass as Feng Tianyi's older sister if she stood next to her son.
"I'm sure he will be back on his feet soon."
That's for sure, He Lianchen thought, but he wouldn't dare to voice out. At this rate, Feng Tianyi would only need a good push for him to undergo therapy to restore the strength of his legs.
Perhaps, He Lianchen should discuss this with Tang Moyu, just in case she would be able to convince the devil to get back on his feet. The devil was smitten by the empress anyway. She might have not noticed it yet, but he and Song Fengyan weren't blind to see the attraction.
"Good. Because this old woman cannot sub for him for too long. The faster he recovers, the faster I can retire and live the way I've always wanted. He needs to realize that Feng Conglomerate is nothing now. Qing Tian needs him back, now more than ever."
