Return of the Empress 3
Who hadn't heard about her nasty rift with Feng Tianhua five years ago? Although the Feng Conglomerate wasn't at par with Yun Corporation, Feng Tianhua had enough influence to blacklist Tang Moyu within the business circle in Shenzhen.
Tang Moyu remained silent throughout the ordeal. She knew it wouldn't be easy for everyone to accept her. Not when Feng Tianhua's ire was still directed towards her, but wasn't it ridiculous?
There was no need for Feng Tianhua to be guarded against her as she had no desire to get revenge on him. It would be futile and would only put her children in harm's way by seeking reckless revenge.
Besides, what would she get if she went head to head against Feng Tianhua? She had no desire whatsoever to get entangled in his affairs. Right now, she would rather become an investor and venture capitalist than to go back to Feng Conglomerate.
Women who knew how to use their charm and body can control men, but Tang Moyu also knew that men didn't like women who couldn't be controlled by them. She wouldn't be surprised if that was why some businessmen looked down on her despite her capabilities. After all, she was a woman fighting in a battlefield dominated by men.
Anyway, she was more worried about the other members of the Tang family than herself right now.
Didn't Tang Zhelan realize that her incompetence would affect not only her luxury lifestyle but everyone who relied on their income from their shares at Tang Enterprise as well?
Didn't Tang Zhelan know that they had a cousin who was also a single mother, who relied on their family business to support her child? How could she be this irresponsible when there were so many people who could be affected by her decisions?
Tang Moyu knew her cousin didn't like her since they were children, but she couldn't understand Tang Zhelan's animosity against her even when she'd tried her best not to cross paths with her.
Tang Moyu also considered that her cousin had socketed away the company's wealth for her own gain, given how she sarcastically smiled at her earlier. She probably wouldn't suffer financially even if the whole Tang Enterprise crumbled.
How selfish. How could she let her own family suffer because of her incompetence? She was a member of the board and had access to the company funds. Was her lack of compassion towards their relatives that strong that she would rather take everything than help their business flourish?
Tang Moyu reviewed the numbers again. Whoever replaced Tang Zhelan would have a hard time reviving the dying company. There was just so much work to do and she wasn't sure if Tang Enterprise would be able to overcome this storm.
"We'll have to figure out who'll be part of the executive team but I decided to put Moyu in charge." Elder Tang stood up. "Now if you'll excuse me, Moyu and I have other appointments today." He then gave his other granddaughter a hard gaze, telling Tang Zhelan to follow them out.
As the two left the conference room, Tang Moyu remained silent. Elder Tang noticed her unusual silence. Earlier, he thought it was because of her nervousness, but now that the meeting was over, he realized that something else was winding her up and wondered what it could be.
An hour later, they arrived at the Tang Estate where the family decided to talk about the situation of Tang Enterprise and have their lunch together. It had been years since Tang Moyu stepped into this place.
Given the wealth the Tang family had inherited from several generations ago, one would think that they were living on a huge mansion with high ceilings and flawless marbled floor. Instead, the Tang Mansion was like a huge three-story house with a vast garden and spacious driveway.
Tang Moyu stood and stared at the huge house. It was still the same home she remembered. Meeting the whole family after years of exile, she didn't think she was ready to face them. For her mother, she was a great disappointment.
Breaking her engagement and being pregnant with what they call bastards weren't part of their plan. Her purpose was to become the next Madam Feng but because she lost Feng Tianhua's favor to Xing Yiyue, what was there for her after losing her purpose?
Elder Tang opened the dark wooden door and a gorgeous woman in her late forties came forward to greet them. The smile on her face faltered as soon as she saw Tang Moyu standing behind the old man.
"What's wrong? Aren't you going to let your own daughter in?" Elder Tang asked.
Tang Moyu saw her mother's jaw hardened, her brows furrowing with annoyance.
"I didn't expect her to be here, Father." Zhang Wuying replied, her eyes glaring daggers at Tang Moyu. Something in her gaze reminded Tang Moyu of her dissatisfaction with her presence.
"Don't worry, Mother. It isn't like I want to be here either." Tang Moyu said nonchalantly. She should have known not to expect that she would receive a warm welcome from the woman who gave birth to her.
