Conflicting Thoughts
Then, Mo Yuan revealed a helpless expression and waved at Mo Rao. “You don’t have to worry about this. I can guarantee that I definitely didn’t cause her suicide.”
Seeing that Mo Yuan was unwilling to say it, Mo Rao didn’t ask further. After all, no matter what, she believed in her brother.
Mo Rao and Mo Yuan looked at each other for a moment in silence.
After all, Gu Ci had helped them a lot back then and took good care of them. Otherwise, Mo Yuan wouldn’t have thought of matchmaking Mo Rao and Gu Ci.
But now that the harsh reality was in front of them, they didn’t know what to say.
After a moment, Mo Yuan said, “Rao Rao, what do you think?”
Mo Rao raised her hand helplessly and rubbed her forehead. To be honest, she didn’t know what to do now.
Although Gu Ci was helping her, Gu Ci’s methods now made her scalp tingle. After he ended someone’s life, he was still able to joke around in front of her…
“I don’t know either,” Mo Rao said softly. “But let’s try our best to distance ourselves from Gu Ci… Gu Ci hasn’t come to look for me recently anyway, so he should have given up already!”
Mo Rao said the last sentence without much confidence.
When Mo Yuan saw Mo Rao’s vexed expression, he couldn’t help but comfort her. “Rao Rao, don’t think too much about it. I told you this because I want you to be more vigilant about Gu Ci. You don’t have to feel too burdened. Qu Ru and the others deserved it. It’s not your fault.”
Sensing Mo Yuan’s concern, Mo Rao finally relaxed a little.
She stood up and sat beside Mo Yuan. Then, she leaned against him and said, “Brother, don’t worry! I’ll be fine.”
With what Qu Ru and Lin Xia had done to her, they had brought it on themselves, so she didn’t feel guilty.
She just felt conflicted about Gu Ci.
Mo Yuan looked sideways at Mo Rao. After a pause, he raised his hand and rubbed Mo Rao’s head. “Yes, alright, go into your room and rest! I’ll wake you up at dinnertime.”
Mo Rao waited for Mo Yuan to remove his head from hers before nodding at him. “Alright, I’ll go back to my room now.”
However, when Mo Rao returned to her room, she took the tablet in. Mo Yuan naturally saw it, but after thinking about it, he didn’t ask Mo Rao to leave it.
After returning to her room, Mo Rao lay down under the bed with a tired expression and buried her head in the pillow.
After a while, Mo Rao sat up, straightened her back, and opened the tablet to read the content again. The expression in Mo Rao’s eyes was complicated, making it impossible to tell what she was thinking.
She sighed and slowly closed her eyes. When she opened her eyes again, the hesitation and confusion in her eyes were already suppressed.
Mo Rao didn’t know if it was because Gu Ci’s incident had dealt a huge blow to her, but now, she felt sleepy despite it still being early.
After Mo Rao thought about it, she lay on the bed to sleep.
When Mo Rao woke up again, she realized that it was almost half-past five after looking at the time. She had unknowingly slept for nearly two hours.
She sat up and rubbed her head, which was a little dizzy from oversleeping.
After waking up, she got up from the bed and walked out of the room.
As she opened the door, she shouted, “Brother!”
“Rao Rao, are you awake? How was your sleep?” Just as Mo Rao finished speaking, Mo Yuan’s voice sounded.
Mo Rao walked to Mo Yuan’s side and sat down. “I’m fine. I just have a headache from oversleeping.” Perhaps because she had just woken up, her voice didn’t sound as cold as usual.
When Mo Yuan heard this, he quickly raised his hand to help Mo Rao massage her temples in hopes of relieving her headache.
“What about now? How do you feel?” After Mo Yuan rubbed it for a while, he asked.
Mo Rao nodded. “I feel much better now.”
